Join a 5k!
I love running 5k’s. There are some out there that are for fun and some that are for a good cause. There are some creative ones too! Like mud runs, color runs, zombie runs, and costume runs. And no, you do not have to run the entire race, you can most certainly walk the race, the point is that you are getting up and moving around!
Try a HEALTHY recipe
Pinterest has a crazy amount of healthy recipes! Try a new fall recipe and see if you like it.
Go to a pumpkin patch
You don’t realize how good of a workout this can be. Some pumpkin patches are huge! You are bending down, picking up pumpkins, laughing, and walking around. It is a great way to spend time with friends and family as well as stay active!
Go apple picking!
If you surround yourself with healthy foods, you are bound to eat them! Skip the bags of candy and go have some fun apple picking. The apple farm (is that what they are called?) that I have been to is so big! I sent so much time walking around; it’s a great way to sneak in a couple miles into your day!
Skip the box and make your own cider/hot chocolate
There are so many preservatives and added sugars in these packets of heaven. But if you take the time to make your own fall drink, you can skip some of those! Instead of sugar, try honey or cinnamon! There are healthy ways that you can sweeten your food/drinks, take advantage of them!
I don’t enjoy turning down desserts, sometimes I give in to the temptation and that is OKAY. Minus when Rachel and I share banana split, I am pretty good with moderation. You truly can eat whatever you want; just make sure you eat the serving size!
There are so many nutritional benefits from pumpkin seeds. They have tons of healthy fats for your body! Make sure you don’t overdue it though, otherwise the benefits like better digestion, heart health, and blood sugar balance won’t be factored in. These healthy monosaturated and polysaturated fats that pumpkin seeds have to offer can do amazing things for you body. Oh, and don’t forget all the vitamins and minerals that are offered, some being iron, zinc, and magnesium.
