I love me a good Luke Bryan song. Honestly, no matter what mood I am in, just by listening to his songs can put me in an even better mood. I know Luke is like the new Country fad, but him and I go way back. I remember when my sister and I saw him 3 times in one summer. This was the summer he was the opening act for Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean. We also saw him at the Shenandoah State Fair. I think that was back in 2010 or 2011? It was so small, now all of his shows are sold out, and he needs to visit northern VA twice because it is so demanding.
The summer that I saw him 3 times, he was literally the ONLY singer I listened to. No, I am not exaggerating that at all. Unless I was put into a situation where I needed to listen to someone else (at work or in a store), he was the only singer! I am a very obsessive person, yes. We have been over this! But, this was way before anyone really knew his name, so Luke and I do go way back.
These are just some of the quotes that I found in some of his songs. This is what I think of when I listen to music. I always look for the deeper meaning, or how I can relate it to my life in general. So basically, Luke Bryan is a motivational speaker... and here is why:
“Ain’t no reason runnin’ after somethin’ already gone.”
Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, Tailgates and Tanlines
Ahhhh, there are so many people that I know of, that should really take this quote in. A lot of times, I feel that we try to fix something that is not there anymore. When something slips through your fingertips, sometimes the best thing you can do is just move on. In the end it only makes you stronger. Everything that comes into your life has a meaning; it will either give you what you want, or show you what you don’t want.
“Right now it don’t make sense, I can’t make it all make sense.”
Drink A Beer, Crash My Party
This. This quote right here... It has been 2 years since I have lost my grandma, and I still cannot make it all make sense. I am not sure if I will ever be able to make sense of it, I have just come to terms with it. That is all I can really say about this one. If you have never heard this song, you should listen to it. It’s really calming.
“Don’t worry ‘bout nothin’, let it go see what tomorrow brings. Don’t worry ‘bout nothin’, pray about everything.”
Pray About Everything, I’ll Stay Me
If I listened to this, my life would be so much easier. I do have to say that it is getting easier as I get older, so I am happy about that. As for praying, as I have gotten older, I have seen how much easier it has gotten. Once I lost Grandma, it really felt like I had a purpose to pray. I am not sure how to really elaborate on that… that might be something for a different blog post. But anyways, it is possible for praying to ease worries, it surely worked for me.
“We were poor, we were ugly, we were all best friends, wide eyed, baptized, and still wantin’ to sin. Thank god we get more than just one shot.”
We Rode In Trucks, I’ll Stay Me
GAH, this reminds me of summer days in elementary school when Shelby, Sami, Dani, and I would go to Grandma’s every single day. We learned everything through each other. If someone made a mistake, we knew not to make the same one. We wanted nothing but to just grow up and be on our own… now one of us is already in Georgia, where her life has truly begun. It’s crazy how time flies; you don’t realize that those days are some of the best days of your life.
“Some folks ain’t happy like they are, some wanna take things just a little too far.”
I’ll Stay Me, I’ll Stay Me
I love this song. It is so catchy and adorable. It goes through different scenarios of how people want to be something completely different than what they are. They could have everything anyone could every want, but they still just want something different. If given the chance, I would not choose to live anyone else’s life. I love my life and I would not trade it for anything. I may not have the best of everything, but that is what makes me Kylie. That is what makes me unique. I worry too much, I like to talk too much, sometimes I am really loud, and I like to believe I am a singer. If some of these things were untrue, would it make me a better person? Maybe. I don’t care though. It makes me, me.
“Ain’t hearing nothin’ such a beautiful sound?”
Welcome To The Farm, Doin’ My Thing
Just laying outside on a nice summer day, listening to nothing but a nice light breeze. Breathing in the wonderful smell of the grass and flowers… that is one of the small things I live for. Sometimes when I go to the gym early in the morning I like to drive with no music on. It is time for me to reflect on my workout and the day ahead of me. Reflecting is how I learn from my mistakes, so I try to get it in whenever I can.
“You fight, you cry, you lie, you bleed, and you lean on one another”
Blood Brothers, Crash My Party
Haha Rachel, I know you are rolling your eyes at this one. But really, this quote is how I feel about my loved ones, and it is honestly how everyone should feel about the ones they love. Yes, physically I am there for anyone when they need me, but you can bet your britches that I am there mentally whenever they need me as well. I will always drop whatever I am doing for anyone, honestly.
“All you can do is keep going and thank god for what you have.”
Chuggin’ Along, Doin’ My Thing
This is one of my favorite songs by Luke Bryan. A lot of my favorites are ones that no one has even heard of. I feel like we all spend so much time counting the things we don’t have, rather than counting the things we do.
“When you look back over your shoulder at everything you’ve done, put the good times in your pocket, let the bad ones make you strong.”
Chuggin’ Along, Doin’ My Thing
I always talk about when I look back on my life; I am not going to be happy with it. I feel like I have played my life way too safe. That sounds weird, but it’s true. I’m not a risk taker; I don’t go on as many adventures as I could… So I automatically take that as a bad thing. But, it really isn’t a bad thing. I have lived my life in my own special way. Should I still try to get out of the house more? Sure. But that doesn’t mean that I have lived a bad or uneventful life. That is simply me comparing my life to someone else’s, rather than being happy with the one I was blessed to have.
“It feels like I woke up one mornin’ and it all just changed without warning. I don’t know where our paths crossed, all I know is I’ve been lost. Now it’s hard to think that we were ever strangers.”
In Love With A Girl, Spring Break 3…It’s A Shore Thing
This quote just automatically makes me think of every single friend that has walked into my life. Have you ever thought if you didn’t have your best friend, what life would be like? You would be strangers. Neither one of you would know that the other existed… isn’t that sad? It is crazy to think that everyone that I’ve probably seen Rachel before in my life and never thought twice about it, because she was just another stranger. Next time you’re put in the situation to meet someone new, take it and run with it. You never know what it has the potential to turn into.
“And now I know I’ve done everything I could, to try to make a bad thing good.”
Been There Done That, Tailgates and Tanlines
This is like a satisfaction quote to me. Once you try everything you possibly can to make something work, even if it doesn’t work in the end, you should still feel accomplished because you still gave it everything you have. I am a big believer in the quote “it’s better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder.” Then again, you are talking to a girl with anxiety, so I’m not sure how others feel about that. I envy Rachel in the sense that she does not need to know everything. If information is not said to her, she does not worry about it. She does not need to know anything that doesn’t benefit her and I think that is an amazing quality to have.
"Once it's gone, you can't get it back. So life 'em up y'all, where ya at?"
Like We Ain't Ever, Spring Break 6...Like We Ain't Ever
This very moment that you are in right now? You will never get it back. You need to make decisions in your life that you won't regret. If we all lived like we knew this was a moment that we would never get back, I would if we would live it differently? Stop holding back and just live, that's really all there is to it.
