If you are anything like me, you have said "today I am going to start eating healthy" or "I will workout so hard today" probably 100 times by now. It never sticks, does it?
There are a couple different reasons why your mindset isn't sticking with you.
The biggest reason?
Being healthy isn't about eating vegetables or burning 500 calories on the treadmill... It's about committing to becoming a better person inside and out.
People tend to think that it will be easy to get skinny by eating vegetables and doing a bunch of cardio, when in reality they are doing it completely for the wrong reasons.
Why should you switch over to a healthy lifestyle?
Because you will feel great about yourself every single day. Your body will be free of toxins that are found in processed and fried foods. You will be strong and lean, not malnourished or skinny. You will have a positive outlook on life, and you will inspire others to do the same. You will be a happier person all around. So why not try it out?

Go to sleep earlier
There are so many different reasons on why you should get more sleep at night. Lack of sleep can lead to depression, poor diet choices, fatigue, weight gain, and also headaches. Also, going to sleep earlier tends to mean that you will be waking up earlier as well, which will give you more time in the morning to get things done.
Eat a healthy breakfast
I cannot emphasize this enough. EAT PROTEIN FOR BREAKFAST. Eggs, yogurt, protein pancake, protein bar... Anything! Eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast will help your metabolism throughout the rest of the day! So make sure you wake up with enough time to fit in something nutritious.
Morning cardio
Doing cardio in the morning helps your blood get pumping as well as boosts your metabolism for hours to come throughout the rest of the day. Who can complain when it comes to burning a couple extra calories throughout the day? No one ;) (Is doing cardio in the evening bad? No. There is never a bad time to do cardio... Just remember that it is more beneficial if you get it done in the morning before you start your day. Due to the fact that your metabolism drops in the evening time, you won't be burning as much fat as you would in the morning. Even if that means walking to the end of your street and back. Get your metabolism rising so you can start your day off right!)
Plan out your day
I for one definitely know that it is very stressful to not get everything you had planned in a day done. If you take a couple minutes out before you go to bed to write down on a piece of paper what your plans are for the following day, it will make it easier for you to figure out the amount of time needed to get everything done. I recommend using a planner. I have one and it honestly makes life that much easier. Even if you use the calendar that you have on your phone, it is something!
Drink more water
I don't care if you don't like water, drink it. Your body is made up of over 50% water.. You need water. On average you should be drinking about 8 cups of water per day... That isn't a lot! Now, if you want to be losing weight, I recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces per day. If you don't like the taste of water- no problem! Try some homemade fruit mixtures! (Strawberry kiwi, cucumber melon- or make up your own!)
Veggies, veggies, veggies
EAT MORE VEGETABLES. You can eat a vegetable in so many different ways it's crazy. I think veggies are one of my favorite foods. Vegetables are awesome because you can eat however many you want, and not feel guilty for it. They will not make you feel sluggish, they will make you feel more energized! What is beautiful about vegetables? They are NATURALLY low in calories, fat, and no cholesterol! They are also jam packed with fiber. They also have good amounts of Vit A (which will give you glowing skin) and Vit C (which will give you a glowing immune system).
Exercise daily
Generally, they say that you should get about 30 minutes of exercise everyday. But exercise does not have to mean going to the gym. Exercise can mean mowing your lawn, going on a walk around your neighborhood, chasing your dog in your backyard, going to play laser tag, playing with a Wii. There are so many different ways that you can get daily exercise in everyday. Exercising everyday helps control weight gain, heart diseases, and it promotes better sleep!
Don't compare yourself to others
Stop comparing yourself to other people. Comparing does nothing but steal your happiness away from you. Don't compare your beginning with someone else's middle or need. You are doing as well as you can. This lifestyle welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Instead of being 'jealous' or 'comparing sizes' why don't you make new friends? Turn that negative energy into positive energy. You will feel more open and free when you learn to let go of comparison.
Push yourself to do something beneficial for yourself everyday
Read a book or the newspaper, call up a friend, go on a walk, meal prep. Do something everyday that you can wind down with. Whether that is cooking, watching your favorite television show, baking, exercising, or chatting. Do what you can do to release your energy and give it back to the world.
